El Paso–Ciudad Juárez Freight for Maquila Dray and Interior Chihuahua

El Paso–Juárez freight is a twin-city dray market with its own bridges. COL Freight Solutions will not reroute your maquila cargo through Laredo just because a template said Texas.

El Paso–Ciudad Juárez freight is short-haul by map and high-stakes by production calendar. Maquiladoras in Juárez parks—Zaragoza, FINSA, Omega, and the industrial belt along the border—live on daily trucks, not on a five-day Laredo adventure. COL Freight Solutions books FTL, LTL, and specialized equipment through the El Paso ports of entry and, when the routing fits, Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

The Bridge of the Americas (BOTA) and Ysleta-Zaragoza are the names shippers should know. They are not the same queue, and they are not World Trade Bridge. If your parts are coming from Dallas, the last miles still happen here. If they are coming from Los Angeles, I-10 is the spine—not I-35.

Which crossing for which Juárez park

Ysleta-Zaragoza often aligns with southeast Juárez industrial traffic. BOTA sits closer to central flows and certain in-bond patterns. Santa Teresa, just west in New Mexico, is a commercial alternative some automotive and electronics shippers use to dodge El Paso congestion—only when their Mexican carrier and aduana operation are actually set up there. Guessing the bridge from a U.S. GPS pin is how trailers sit.

Juárez is a just-in-time city. Plants will take a drop trailer in the yard at 2 a.m. and reject a live load that misses the andén by forty minutes. Tell us the receiving rules before we book the truck.

  • Daily dedicated runs for sequenced auto and appliance parts
  • Northbound finished goods heading to El Paso DCs or onward to Dallas and the Midwest
  • Project and oversized pieces that may need a specific span and escort plan

This is not a mini-Laredo

Laredo is a national funnel. El Paso is a binational metro. Empty trailers, Mexican federal licensing, and IMMEX documentation behave differently when the plant is twenty minutes from the POE. Typical dray windows are measured in hours when the pedimento is ready; they stretch when Juárez municipal traffic, bridge maintenance, or secondary inspection intervenes. We do not sell a guaranteed crossing minute.

Interior Chihuahua—Delicias, Cuauhtémoc, and plants beyond the border strip—adds real linehaul on the Mexican side. Do not price those deliveries as a Juárez city dray.

U.S. origins that actually feed Juárez

West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California via I-10, and Dallas via I-20/I-10. Houston and the Valley are usually the wrong first instinct unless the freight already sits on the Gulf. COL covers those U.S. legs as a property broker; we do not claim an El Paso warehouse on Gateway Boulevard that we do not operate. Offices: Saint Petersburg, FL, and Los Gatos, CA.

Questions shippers ask

Should Juárez freight go through Laredo instead?

Almost never as a default. Laredo adds hundreds of miles for a metro that already has commercial bridges. Use Laredo when the Mexican destination is Nuevo León or the Bajío, not when it is Juárez.

How long is an El Paso to Juárez crossing?

The distance is short. Typical processing can be hours with clean documents and can extend with inspections or bridge incidents. Timing depends on customs.

Do you handle both directions?

Yes. Southbound parts and northbound finished goods are both common. Equipment and paperwork differ; send both profiles if you run a closed loop.
