A cargo transport service is a defined product: exclusive trailer, shared LTL network, storage and transload, or a coordinated cruce fronterizo. When the request is only “necesito un camión,” the desk has to guess equipment, transit, and whether your tarimas can sit next to someone else’s freight. Guessing is how you pay twice.

Matching cargo transport service to the freight
FTL when you need the box, the clock, or exclusive use. LTL when a few pallets can tolerate terminal touches and class pricing. Warehousing when the PO and the production date do not meet. Cross-border when documents and a handoff are part of the work, not an afterthought.
Reefer, flatbed, and oversize are services, not upgrades you mention after the van is dispatched. Temperature set points and strap counts belong in the first email.
Service levels that change the price stack
Live load versus drop trailer. Appointment versus FCFS. Inside delivery versus tailgate. Each is a different cargo transport service even if the miles look identical. Put them on the RFQ so the bid is not a fiction.
What to write in the service request
Commodity and packaging, piece count, weight, L×W×H, origin patio hours, destination receiving rules, and whether the move is doméstico en EE. UU., doméstico en México (we broker U.S. authority legs and coordinate the North America move), or transfronterizo.
- Name the mode you think you need—and allow us to contradict you if cube says otherwise.
- Attach photos of the tarimas.
- State if storage days are required before final delivery.
