Air Goods Transport with Truck First and Last Mile in North America
Air goods transport is the expensive clock. COL Freight Solutions arranges the airport trucks that make an air waybill into a dock delivery—without pretending we fly the aircraft.
Updated 2026-08-20 · air goods transport
Air goods transport is for freight that cannot wait for a highway border queue or a vessel string: downed production lines, high-value electronics, samples, and medical-adjacent cargo that still moves as freight rather than parcel. COL Freight Solutions books airport pickup and delivery around MEX, GDL, MTY, MIA, DFW, IAH, LAX, and other North American cargo airports as a licensed property broker. We do not operate airlines.
The air chapter is a cutoff, screening, and recovery at the destination ramp. The truck chapter is still a dock appointment. Typical airport-to-airport times follow airline networks. Typical total door-to-door time depends on those trucks and, if the cargo later needs a land-border entry as a separate move, on customs. We will not sell “air to Juárez in four hours, guaranteed.”
When air is the right spend
A missing harness holding an Apodaca line, a replacement board for an El Salto electronics plant, or a sample that must hit a Dallas meeting. Those justify air. A weekly replenishment of packaged food almost never does. We will say no when highway or ocean is the adult answer.
Dim weight rules the quote more than the scale in your warehouse. Measure. Photographs of the pieces beat a verbal “it’s small.”
- Airport recovery and delivery on both sides of the flight
- Air plus highway when the last plant is not at the airport city
- Charter conversations only when the pieces and the clock truly require it
Airports that show up on USA–Mexico files
MEX for the capital region, GDL for Jalisco electronics, MTY for Nuevo León, MIA and MCO for Florida, DFW and IAH for Texas, LAX and SAN for California. The flight may be the easy part; the 3PL at the cargo city and the Mexican plant appointment are the hard part.
Dangerous goods by air are a narrower set than highway. Lithium batteries and chemicals need the air-specific declaration. If it cannot fly, we will tell you to use road freight of goods instead.
What COL does not invent at the airport
We do not run a COL cargo warehouse inside MIA or MEX. Partner handlers exist. Offices remain Saint Petersburg, FL, and Los Gatos, CA. Phone 561-880-9808. USDOT 4427559, MC-1741651.
Air is rarely the recovery program by itself
The Transportation Cost Recovery Program™ is built around consistent shipping with COL, often highway. Urgent air can sit beside that program; it does not replace a volume pattern.
